About X-Stigma

This competition is targeted at students from all Junior Colleges (including students of equivalent standard in Integrated Programmes and Centralized Institutes), Polytechnics and Universities in Singapore. The reason for this is that we want to start the change in how our society perceives individuals coping with mental health issues at the grassroots level. Being leaders of the future, we believe that if we can change the views of our youth, we can change the future.

The objective of conducting ‘X‐STIGMA’is to provide an interactive platform for students to be involved in the understanding and learning of issues surrounding mental health. We hope that through this process, we will be able to raise public awareness of the issues associated with mental health, as well as to mitigate the prevailing stigma attached to individuals coping with mental health issues in our society.

Students can work in a team to propose ideas for a marketing campaign promoting these key messages:

a. Individuals suffering from mental health problems are no different from you and me.

b. Individuals who may be suffering from mental health problems should be advised to seek help immediately. There is no shame in seeking treatment to improve one's quality of life.

It could be a rock concert to raise awareness, marketing campaign through the distribution of flyers, ANYTHING! As long as its within the budget of $200. :) So come on now and send in your entries!!
